A Sicilian Escape

A Sicilian Escape

Whilst holidaying and visiting our family in the South of France, our holiday was coming very quickly to an end. We just weren’t ready to go home yet and had a strong urge to explore Sicily and visit the Aeolian Islands. We jumped on a flight from Nice to Palermo followed by a ferry from Palermo to Salina.

We had done a little bit of research before getting to Salina (which is the greenest of the seven islands), but not a lot, and we thought like most of our travels we would just wing it like we normally do. We first found the beautiful hotel named; CapoFaro, which was a beautiful minimalist hotel that sits on the sea front of Malfa, and is surrounded by vineyards (you can even do a wine testing on the property). Each room opens onto a terrace facing the sea. Enjoy yoga here at this beautiful hotel as well as hiring a boat for a day or half a day and exploring a little more of the island. This was one of our highlights of our whole trip.

Another little gem we stumbled across was Hotel Signum. The most beautiful, quaint little hotel right in the middle of Malfa. It has a very special old energy and is famous for its delicious food and ancient day spa. With a combination of magnesium salt baths, geothermal baths, saunas, a steam room and a cold plunge pool. This place is truly magical.
Also - if we had time (& is definitely on the list for next time we would check out the island of Panera)
